[She'll make sure he takes care of himself. She pulls back and boops his nose with her index finger.]

Speaking of which, when did you last eat?

Mm...

[He pretended to bite after her finger, then head his stomach answer for him.]

Ah, lunch, I think. We got a little swamped later.

Babe. [She giggles at his playful mock bite and goes back to the stove where it all smells so good. She opens her cabinets to get bowls for them.]

Let's get you fed!

Hey, I'm not the one that got jumped. Let's get you fed.

[He turned back to find his wine, taking a small sip of that before he went to go help her get the food ready.]

Jumped is kind of a strong word. It was more like a surprise baby pounce!

[The wine is definitely helping with the ache in her wrist. Soon, her belly will be full, and she can coax Matt Murdock to get naked and crawl into her very expensive thread count. With his help, they get the food plated.]

Wanna eat on the couch?

Couch works for me. I don't really stand on ceremony or pomp, Lexi. Humble upbringing and all.

[Between his dad and the orphanage, he'd learned to take what was given to him and like it. Elektra, however, had shown him that upper class and he could dance his way around that when needed.]

I just want to make sure you're comfortable.

[She grabs her wine and guides him to her living room. Her place is immaculately designed and decorated to her taste though it's lost on him. It does smell nice though. She likes softer floral scents in candles. Nothing strong or overly sweet. She tells him where the couch and coffee table are before she takes a seat with a satisfied sigh.]

I'm really glad you're here tonight.

I'm here with you. I'm happy and comfy.

[He set his food down, arranging it so it was easier for him to reach without knocking anything over, and then turned to her with a smile.]

I'm sorry something bad happened first, but I'm glad you invited me over.

It's okay. I've had worse. It's nothing like that time with the drug lord in Thailand.

[She's got a leg curled underneath her. Alexis leans into his side as she eats and sips on her wine. She sighs, enjoying the peace in the moment after a long day.]

Seriously, that dude doesn't even rate on my Top Ten hostage moments.

Just because you've had worse doesn't mean you should keep having little bits tossed at you.

[Alexis was a strong minded, strong willed woman, and he knew firsthand that she was likely capable of taking care of herself. Didn't stop him from wanting to keep her from having to.]

There's a top ten list, mm?

There sure is. The FBI has to keep track of me sometimes.

[She feels such an utter fondness for him and his concern. It's nice, that sort of concern. Her family loves her, but they're nonplussed about her misadventures. She gives a little happy moan at how good the food is.]

Oh my god, Matty! This is amazing!

[If she was being monitored, he'd have to be a little more careful with his comings and goings. Then he's distracted by her reaction to his food, and he laughs, taking a bite himself.]

As long as it's not bad, I'll take a win.

Usually when I go missing in a foreign country. Honestly, they care more than my family sometimes.

[It's not spoken with any sort of malice or hurt. It's just simple and matter of fact. She's confident in getting herself out of a mess. She's done it time and time again. She eats another bite and wiggles with happiness.]

You should cook for me more often!

[He sighed, moving to drape his arm over her shoulder to pull her in against him.]

I'm vaguely terrified that you go missing in foreign countries enough for the FBI to need to check in with you.

[Judging by how she'd reacted to her mugger, he was going to have to check in on her more frequently. In his other suit.]

They're just little misadventures! And I just kind of run into people who are involved in less than savory stuff?

[She gives a little shrug and smiles as if it's all perfectly normal. In her defense, she hasn't gotten into any trouble lately. Not until then mugging. She'd thought things had been getting kind of quiet. Maybe this is another wave of trouble for her. It happens. She playfully steals a bite from his plate.]

And I haven't gone missing in like, a really long time.

[He eats slowly, one arm kept over her, the other picking at the plate on his lap, turning his head to kiss the side of her hair.]

You know that I'm only human, right? Heart attacks will kill me.

You're not going to have a heart attack. You're in good shape and perfectly healthy.

[She giggles as she cuddles him. His playful dramatics are endearing. She slowly finishes her food, setting her plate on the coffee table. She refills their wine and keeps her glass with her.]

And if you do have a heart attack, I'll bring you back.

It's a possibility if I wake up and find my girlfriend's been kidnapped to Saudi Arabia.

[He sets what's left of his on the table, then takes a few sips of wine before he focuses on just enjoying the feel of her curling up against him.]

You know CPR, mm?

If it makes you feel better, I have good friends in Saudi Arabia!

[Granted, it's her ex, a prince who kept her captive in his palace for two months, but he would still help her if needed!]

Definitely. It's a life skill to learn, but with you, I think you'd need more tongue.

That's not CPR, Lexi.

[But he grinned, his hand moving over to find hers, careful with her wrist.]

Maybe we should look at getting you some mace. Or a taser.

Well, it starts like CPR?

[Her tone is playfully innocent and teasing. She loves his gentle touch, mindful of her swollen wrist. She traces the length of his fingers.]

I wouldn't say no to either. A taser might be better, I think. I don't want to accidentally mace myself.

[He laughed, because how could he not? She was ridiculous, but she had that 'wherever they fall' mentality about life that worried him, because while most of the time, it seemed things worked out for her, all it took was once. He was trying very hard not to think about what might have happened if he hadn't come along. It tensed him up, remembering the sound of her surprise and, yes, fear.]

A taser might be best. They have ones that are technically legal, but I might have to look into what this 'watch list' you're on means. I don't want to advise you getting anything that gets you in trouble. That would make me a shitty boyfriend and a shittier lawyer.

It's mostly I have a tendency to hang out with unsavory types? Drug lords, pirates, diamond smugglers, mob bosses. Like I'm not seeking them out! But it just kinda happens.

[Alexis goes searching for adventure and a good time, and without fail, she finds trouble. She's been arrested and held hostage more times than she can count, but she's decided that those experience help make her the bad boss lady she is today.]

And you're definitely not a shitty boyfriend! You came over at this later hour to take care of me and cook for me. That makes you the best boyfriend.

You have a very worrying habit of falling into 'interesting' scenarios. And an equally worrying habit of seeing the best in bad situations. I don't want you to get taken advantage of, Alexis.

But I always make it out, don't I? I've made it this far!

[That's sound logic to her. She feels a little invincible in her head.]
