[He could tell when she paid attention to him, shifted focus to him, and he turned his face to her.]

[He can't see her pout, but he can hear it. She rests her chin on his shoulder.]

[His hand came up to her cheek, holding her there as he turned to press a kiss just by the corner of her lips.]

I really should have invited you over sooner. Especially since you can cook.

[She leans into his touch. The soft kiss to the corner of her lips is met with a happy little nuzzle.]

Think I can invite you into my bed?

Mm... I don't know if that's the smartest idea, Alexis. Not for anything more than cuddling. Not until you get your wrist checked out.

[He didn't want to reward himself for being duplicitous with her, so using her actual injury to deny himself fit in with his Catholic penance.]

[Alexis' pout grows. She really doesn't need to use her wrist much. If at all. Matt is worrying too much, the she also thinks it's sweet.]

Ugh, Matty! You're such a gentleman. [She appreciates it about him, but she's still going to pout.]

[He could hear the pout, even if he couldn't see it. He was sure it was adorable.]

How long is that going to take? [She's never been the most patient.]

Guess your doctor will tell you that tomorrow. If it's just a sprain or a bruise, maybe a couple weeks. Longer if it's broken.

[Oh, he knew she wasn't going to like the sound of that. Alexis seemed to have a pretty healthy sexual appetite. He wouldn't be pleased to hear that himself.]

Wait. You think I should see a doctor for this? It's really not that bad!

[She's pretty certain it's not broken. She looks down at her swollen wrist which is mottled and bruised now.] I just need-- like more ice?

Better safe than sorry. You wouldn't want to wind up in a cast, would you?

[Because casts weren't fashionable, Alexis. Listen to your stupid boyfriend.]

[She makes a face at the idea of wearing a cast. She thinks on it for a beat before she gives a loud groan and blows out an even louder sigh. Few people can make her listen to reason like Matt does.]

Alright, fine. I'll see if I can get in with the doctor tomorrow.

If you can't, I know a few people that we could check in with.

[He heard that pout and sigh, and he turned his head to nuzzle a kiss against the side of her head.]

[The kiss helps mollifies her. She's not responsible enough to have a primary care physician, so she figures she can find some kind urgent care or something like that.]

She usually works nights, but she's also a triage nurse. Maybe we'll just see about visiting a clinic in the morning...
